About

Tillikum is an open source housing information management system designed to provide a web interface application for the daily operations managed by university housing services. It is initially intended to facilitate assignment and auto allocation, room/space management, billing, conduct process and records, and conference scheduling. Tillikum will improve the management and flexibility of information, user functionality and security; creating a framework usable by most colleges and universities with a variety of platforms.

The word Tillikum means “people” in Chinook Jargon, a trade language of the Pacific Northwest from the 19th century. This name is meaningful in the context of the work done in university housing and in regional significance.

We use CAcert as our certificate authority. If you do not have their root certificate installed and trusted, your browser might display a warning when you try to navigate to a part of this site that uses SSL. If you receive a warning, consider importing and trusting their root certificate as opposed to using workarounds. The Beginning

Developers and staff members at Oregon State University and Western Washington University have started work on the initial requirements and design phases of the project. We’re continuing to gather more information about processes and taking input from everyone so that we can start out in the right direction.
